A true neighborhood public house, restaurant and bar.

Located in South City St. Louis, we offer fine drinks and good eats for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with drinks till late at night in a smoke-free indoor environment. We feature nightly record spins and a beautiful outdoor courtyard. The Royale is a respectable place where you can hang out with your friends, go on a date or even take your mother.

A Message About Our Current Status

This has been a strange time for the Royale. I’ve been living above the bar during this pandemic, which has been my primary residence for the past 15 years. It is surreal to not have my staff serving people here drinking shoulder to shoulder at the bar, kicking back in the booths or enjoying meals on the courtyard.

This time has allowed me to think and reflect about what The Royale is, what we do here and how we will proceed forward. As of now I do not feel the time is right for the safety of operations to open for the staff and the public.

We are going to do some controlled tests with small reserved private groups on the courtyard to practice how this can be done safely by practical means. Not until we hone these practices will we be comfortable delivering a safe experience for both you and the staff.

We are looking forward to the day we can once again meet to raise a glass at The Royale!

Thank you.
